SHELL EXPANSION · STAIRS · DRAWING UPDATE · MOVE IN SHEET
| |
01.1 · AUTOMATED 2D DRAWING UPDATE
Run the new nsUpdateDrawings command and every structural workshop drawing is refreshed against the current 3D model — sections, part sheets, dimensioned views. Move a frame, add a stiffener, revise a bracket, and the sheets follow on the next update pass.
01.2 · SHELL EXPANSION DRAWINGS
Run nsAddShellExpansion and the classical shell expansion is drawn in seconds — every shell plate developed from the NURBS hull surface, straight into the production drawing set.
DEVELOPED HULL SHELL — FRAMES · SEAMS · BUTTS · PLATE BOUNDARIES
01.3 · AUTOMATED STAIR GENERATION
Use nsAddStair to define stairs between any two decks — tread depth, riser height, stair width, stringer profile. Cutting files and bend marks are generated automatically along with the model. Watch demo →

GENERATED STAIRCASE — TREADS · STRINGERS · BRACKETS

STAIR SETTINGS — TREAD · RISER · STRINGER PROFILE

01.4 · MOVE COMMAND — PARTS INSIDE CUTTING SHEET
Move parts inside cutting sheets easily — see the exact position they will fit before releasing. Optimise material use, slot remnants back into the layout, tweak the nesting after the fact — every move tracked on the sheet database and reflected in the remnant register.
MOVE PARTS ON THE CUT SHEET — 3D LINK PRESERVED
01.5 · EDIT FRAME PARAMETERS
Edit any frame's parameters after it has been generated — type nsEditPart, select the frame, and change spacing, section, offset or end conditions from a single dialog. No need to delete and rebuild.
EDIT FRAME PARAMETERS — nsEditPart
01.6 · TOOLBAR REFRESH — NEW ICON SET
The Notilus toolbar has been redrawn with a new icon set — cleaner glyphs, consistent visual language across every command, and better readability at both small and large Rhino UI scales.

GASKETS · CLASH REPORT
| |
02.1 · AUTOMATED GASKET PLACEMENT
Gaskets are now placed automatically between parts at every flanged connection — spool-to-spool, valve-to-pipe, pipe-to-equipment. Thickness, material, DN and rating inherited from the parent flange, and every gasket listed in the BOM alongside its parent components.

02.2 · CLASH DETECTION REPORT
Run clash detection across piping runs vs. structure, HVAC ducts, cable trays and mechanical equipment — and export the result as a full report so every clash is caught before it reaches production. Watch demo →

MOVE LEADER · SPOOL NUMBER TAGS
| |
03.1 · MOVE LEADER COMMAND
New nsMoveLeader command — move leaders around the sheet easily, keeping their properties (arrow style, text alignment, link to the referenced part).
03.2 · SPOOL NUMBER TAGS ON PIPING LAYOUT DRAWINGS
Piping general-arrangement drawings now carry spool numbers alongside each pipe run, matching the spool sheet package — one-click cross-reference between the piping GA and the individual spool drawings for the shopfloor.

AUTO WEIGHT · DOWNFLOODING · DAMAGED STABILITY
| |
04.1 · AUTOMATED WEIGHT CALCULATION
Weight and weight centroids of items can now be calculated for each stability run directly inside Rhino — fully integrated with Notilus Weight. Change an item in Weight, and every load case is recomputed on the next open.
04.2 · DOWNFLOODING CALCULATION
Define and check downflooding points on the model — vents, doors, hatches, non-watertight openings — and read the angle of downflooding (θd) at which the first opening immerses. Required for intact stability compliance per IMO Intact Stability Code and class rules.
04.3 · DAMAGED STABILITY
Define compartments and damage cases directly in Rhino — one- and multi-compartment scenarios — and see the residual GZ curve after flooding instantly. Compliance against SOLAS Ch. II-1, HSC Code and class-society damage-stability criteria, pass/fail per criterion.

RIGGING · WINDOWS · EN · RUDDER · FREEING PORT
| |
05.1 · RIGGING CALCULATION — ISO 12215
Rigging scantlings for sailing craft per ISO 12215 — standing rigging wire diameters, chainplate loads, mast section modulus and compression checks. Design loads derived from sail area, heeling moment and vessel particulars.
MAST · SHROUDS · CHAINPLATES — ISO 12215 CHECKS
05.2 · WINDOW CALCULATION
Structural window and portlight sizing — hull side, superstructure and deckhouse windows checked against design pressures. Required glass thickness per rule, per window, with material type (tempered, laminated) accounted for.
05.3 · AUTOMATED WINDOW PLAN DRAWING
One-click generation of the window arrangement drawing — every window's location, dimensions, glass thickness, material and rule reference laid out on a single sheet ready for class submission.
05.4 · EQUIPMENT NUMBER CALCULATION
Computes the classical class-society Equipment Number (EN) per IACS UR A1 and DNV rules — the dimensionless parameter derived from displacement, freeboard and lateral profile that drives anchor mass, chain diameter and length, and mooring and towing line breaking loads.
05.5 · RUDDER CALCULATION — ISO / CLASS
Full rudder scantling — rudder force, rudder stock diameter, bearing loads and rudder blade plating per ISO 12215 (sailing craft) and class rules (DNV-RU-HSLC Pt.3 Ch.4 for high-speed craft, similar rule sets for other classes).
05.6 · FREEING PORT CALCULATION — RINA RES31
Freeing port sizing per RINA RES31 — required freeing area per side calculated from bulwark length and freeboard, checked against openings on the deck. Compliance with the rule's minimum area and distribution requirements for effective deck drainage.

LIVE CAMERA TRACKING
| |
The poseable human figure now supports live camera tracking — the Rhino perspective view follows the figure's head and eye position as it moves through the model. Walk through the vessel as the crew would, verify sightlines from the helm, check whether the engineer can see the gauge from where they're standing. Ergonomics validation, in real time.
